Trilye
This painting captures the essence of Trilye, Mudanya (a small fishing village on the Sea of Marmara ), as seen from my wife's family home. I painted it using acrylic on canvas, inspired by the breathtaking sunsets that unfold over the hills. Each evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky would transform into a canvas of its own, with shades of orange, red, and yellow blending into purples and blues. It was that fleeting beauty I wanted to capture, the kind that fills the sky with warmth and light just before night takes over.
I worked on this piece over the course of multiple sunsets, spending those quiet moments trying to capture that special feeling, that unique glow that I experienced each time. The view from their home holds a lot of memories for me, and translating that into bold strokes and vibrant colors felt like the best way to share the magic of Trilye. The deep blues and greens represent the hills that frame the landscape, grounding the energy of the sunset above. It’s my attempt to bring the spirit of that place, and those moments, to life on the canvas.
