Antigoni

In this painting, I aimed to capture the vibrant interplay between the warmth of the interior and the colorful view of Bostancı from Burgazada (Antigoni). Framed by a large window, the composition balances the cozy intimacy of the room with the expansive energy of the cityscape and sea beyond. The abstract, geometric buildings contrast with the fluid motion of the water, while the small boat adds a sense of scale and movement.
The flowers and painter's palette in the foreground anchor the scene in a creative, personal space, contrasting with the urban rhythm outside. Inspired by Fauvism, I used a flattened perspective and bold, vivid colors to emphasize emotion over realism, exploring the tension between stillness and activity, home and horizon.
